Biography

YAEL KOGAN is a dedicated and goal-oriented litigator who thrives on solving complex legal problems. She is committed to protecting her clients’ interests and assisting them with finding durable, creative, and tailored solutions to their legal needs. Yael is developing a broad-based litigation practice with a focus on professional liability, product liability, construction litigation, commercial litigation, personal injury, and insurance coverage matters. She has represented clients and assisted with matters before various courts and administrative tribunals.

Prior to joining Stieber Berlach, Yael gained a wealth of experience working in politics in various positions within the House of Commons and the Senate and articling at a regional law firm in Ottawa.

Yael received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology and Ethics, Society and Law from the University of Toronto and her Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School, where she was awarded the Neil E. Wood Real Estate Prize and the Osler Future Innovators Award. While in law school, Yael participated in numerous mooting and negotiation competitions, and was a caseworker at the Community & Legal Aid Services Program and the Innocence Project.

In her spare time, Yael enjoys exploring new cities and cuisines, as well as spending time with her black Labrador Retriever. Yael is fluent in Russian.
