Construction
We represent engineering companies, large and medium size general contractors, architects, design professionals, project managers, construction managers and small municipalities in the defence of claims related to construction and design defects, bodily injury where allegations of improper construction practices have been made and more.
Major construction is powered by a complex network of stakeholders, each one significantly invested in the project’s success. With so many moving parts and strong personalities, conflicts can arise. With this in mind, Stieber Berlach has built a construction practice that is significant and varied.
We represent engineering companies, large and medium size general contractors, architects, design professionals, project managers, construction managers and small municipalities in the defence of claims related to construction and design defects, bodily injury where allegations of improper construction practices have been made and more.
We also regularly handle claims under the trust provisions of the Construction Act against directors, officers and people alleged to be in control of a company. This work is typically done on behalf of directors’ and officers’ insurers, but also for companies directly. We also represent contractors and suppliers in recovery proceedings including Construction Lien Act claims and prosecuting breach of trust claims.
