Katherine T. Di Tomaso

KATIE DI TOMASO practices in the area of civil litigation, primarily insurance defence litigation. She possess a wide breadth of experience defending claims involving personal injury, occupiers’ liability, Directors’ and Officers’ liability, professional liability, professional discipline, products liability, employment/wrongful dismissal matters, medical malpractice, municipal liability, property and casualty claims and provides coverage opinions. Katie’s practice also includes appellate litigation.

She has represented clients on numerous occasions at several levels of Court in Ontario as well as various administrative tribunals on professional discipline matters. She has obtained superior results for clients at court and through mediation and other alternative dispute resolution activities. Katie is dedicated, diligent and practical when advising and acting for clients.

Katie has written articles on insurance coverage issues, procedural issues in the Superior Court of Justice Commercial List and recent developments in civil litigation. She is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, Ontario Bar Association, The Advocates’ Society and Metropolitan Toronto Lawyers Association.

Katie obtained her Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Western Ontario in 2003 wherein she received national accolades for being the top insurance law student in Canada, among other awards and honours. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) (with High Distinction) (Silver Medal) from University of Toronto in 2000 where she was featured in the Great Minds for a Great Future campaign, among other awards and honours.
